What is Pennguard?

Pennguard comprises an extensive selection of components, all sharing one thing in common: the Pennguard features. Our innovation creates a flexible and protective barrier over materials, delivering performance that truly exceeds the sum of its parts.

Features:

Chemical Resistance

Pennguard is chemically resistant to both wet flue gases at very low temperatures and untreated high-temperature gases, even with very high SO3 content.

Resistant to Thermal Shock

Our innovation tolerates cyclic and bypass operating conditions without issues.

Heat Resistant

Pennguard solutions are highly heat-resistant up to 200°C (392°F).

Fire Resistant

FM approved for steel ducts.

Lightweight

When used as an adhesive, Pennguard is very lightweight, with a weight of only 12-15 kg/m².

Features:

The System

Pennguard is available in various components that together form the ultimate solution for any chimney. The system includes two primers, an adhesive, and blocks that together create the heat-resistant barrier.

Steel Primer HP Epoxy Primer

To prevent rust formation, a primer is available for steel chimneys. It is applied with a brush, roller, or airless spray applicator. This primer ensures better adhesion of the adhesive and stability of the blocks thereafter.

Concrete and Brick Primer PENNTROWEL™ Epoxy Primer

A special Epoxy primer is also available for concrete and brick, enhancing the performance of the Pennguard blocks.

Adhesive

Essential for construction is our special adhesive. Pennguard Adhesive/Membrane is a component of the Pennguard Block Lining System, providing the connection and embedding of the blocks onto the underlying substrate. It also functions as a seamless membrane and protection against chemical elements in flue gases, for example.

Block

The basis of this system is our Block. Two sizes are available: 150 mm and 225 mm modules with a thickness of 38 mm or 51 mm.

Detailed datasheets are available for each of our components with all the essential information.
